Wimbledon 05 or Wimbledon 06?

I dont know about you guys but I dont think this Wimbledon can live up to the greatness of Wimbledon 05. It was so much better, maybe becaue Venus was still in the tournament but also other great players were present like Davenport and Mary Pierce. Wimbledon really isnt Wimbledon without WS and Davenport in the later rounds of the tournament. Its going to be strange when Lindsay retires. Overall we saw better matches in early rounds ex. Serena/Haynes first round. Even on the mens side as well. I liked the way the court played better last year as well. I highly doubt that Henin-Hardenne and Mauresmo can live up to Wimbledon 05 final last year. I dont think they have it in them.

What do you guys think?

Completly agree, 05 was one of the best female Wimbledons in history, so many great matches, there was like 2 or 3 great matches every round, and Vee really made Wimbledon magic last yr, this yr there have only been a handful of memorable matches, the semi's compared to last yr were just average, the final is going to be a let down compared to last yr, i think Vee going out early was a big blow for the event, its no contest 05 wins

2005 by 100000 miles.

So many awesome matches.
Myskina v Jankovic
Venus v Pierce
Venus v Sharapova
Venus v Davenport
Myskina v Dementieva
Haynes v Serena
Mauresmo v Davenport

This year? All 3 grand slams have been nothing special. The best one of the 3 so far, I would say, has been the French Open.

2005 by far. I don't think anyone but a Henin fan will say 2006.
