How often do pros wear sunscreen?

so the days of the novotna-rafter-frazier-pratt white face paints are gone from the tours. how often do the pros wear sunscreen? from the amount of sweating going on, I would say not very often? I cringe after I see that tan line on top of Sveta's, Roger's, and Nadal's faces after they take off their bandana. Those anti-sweat/water proof sunscreens sure do work as they are suppose to

I my self am a tennis player and summer is here. I know I should be putting on sunscreen but with the humidity and the sweat that goes on out there, it gets too tiring to keep putting them on especially as your grip also becomes slippery.

who wears sunscreen here when they play tennis? It's a big b*tch!

I know Anna used a fair amount of sunscreen that was visible on her face. This was at one of her last tournaments she played.

I hope they all do...? or the risk of getting skin cancer would be huge since they are out in the sun so much. You can still get a nice tan!

I always use sunscreen but wash my hands with soap before I touch my racket and I leave the forehead out because I don't want the cream in my eyes. (and I wear a hat, so I don't need cream there anyway)

I imagine as others have said they have to wear protection considering how long they are out in the Sun each day, imagine the fair skinned players, they'd be burned to a crisp if they didn't!.

1 Always apply sunscreen. "Skin cancer is a real risk," says Williams, who can spend six hours a day playing tennis in direct sunlight. One of her favorites: Neutrogena Active Breathable Sunblock SPF 45 ($10; at drugstores).

2 Try false lashes. "I never leave home without false lashes; they really bring out my eyes," Williams says. Her trick: Put them as close as you can to your real lashes, and practice, practice, practice, she says.

3 Exfoliate at least twice a week. "It keeps my skin super soft," Williams says. Her favorite smoother: La Mer's skin-sloughing The Refining Facial ($75;

4 Use water-resistant makeup during workouts. "I wear it during all my matches," says Williams, who admits she never steps onto the court without M.A.C Waterproof Power Point Eye Pencil in black ($13.50; and Estee Lauder Illusionist Waterproof Maximum Curling Mascara ($21;

They all should wear it, not only to prevent skin cancer, but to avoid looking like "Leatherface" from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" when they're like 40 years old, looking 75 years old! No amount of plastic surgery can remedy a leatherface look, either. Once your face turns to leather, there's no going back.

I can think of a few veterns who currently sport the leatherface look, but I'll skip that out of decorum.

I've seen Iva Majoli wearing so much sunscreen she looks like Faye Dunaway from the "no wire hangers scene" from Mommie Dearest! Smart move from Iva.
