I feel sorry for Jana Novotna

It must be difficult to do all that work. Knowing that she won only one slam (beating Tauziat in the final!) and she'll be forgotten soon, she keeps doing this and that to be remembered.

When she retired, she complained about travelling all the time but this didn't keep here from playing seniors whenever possible. She also did so much backstage work to be elected to Tennis Hall of Fame. I'm sure soon she'll return to the tour as a doubles player.

Poor woman...

She had a great career...to pity her is insulting and misguided.

Go Ai, Venus, Na, Tamarine!

Don't be ridiculous. In England she'll be remembered for a long long time. Those finals againgst Steffi Graf and Martina Hingis. and how it seemed she just couldn't win Wimbledon. Those tears - and being consoled by the Duchess of Kent. Then finally winning it.

These scenes are etched in the minds of those who watched those Wimbledons. They are far more memorable than being able to count the exact number of Wimbledons titles and slams that multi Wimbledon/slam winners have won.

Well you obviously haven't forgotten her have you?

So why should anyone else?

Unfortunately Borisy, your negativity about players are getting weaker and weaker! What is happening to you? Can you not take an advanced course or something to get you back up there or are you just going through poor form at the moment? It happens to everyone Borisy ... it happens to tennis players (and you should know, you post about them enough times when they are going through poor form) and now it's happening to you!!

So borisy, how can you pick up your form and make better negative posts than the one you've just put about Jana?

Jana will never be forgotten. Hers is one of the greatest ever stories in Wimbledon history -crying on the Duchesses shoulder and then falling to her knees and crying her heart out in 98. I met her last year and she is very shy and a real sweetheart. I'm sure nobody else here despite some absolute fools feel sorry for her!
