She was playing a scub that retired mid way through the second set.

Shutup.

Women's tennis sucks.

If you're a Lena D. fan, this is nothing compared to the shock you'll get if you think you have already figured her out.

she HAS improved her service ,it will always be up and down tho ,so I expect DFs will still be a factor at times ,but its good to see improvement ,and Julias retirement has sweet F.A too do with her serve!

It may of had a lot to do with it, if Julia was suffering throughout the match. Elena would have been aware of that, therefore taking the pressure off Elena’s game/serve.

how do we know Julia was suffering all thru the match? she may have just got injured at that point ,dunno ,but whats wrong with some people feeling more positive about lena these days? theres some real miserable fuckers round here lately ,the thread starter simply mentioned Lena had been serving better ,theres nowt wrong with that!

that's good. if she has indeed improved her serve, she has to use it all times. including serving out a set or a match. and i expect her to start beating clijsters, kuznetsova, mauresmo, petrova, and other top 10 players in two sets.

ROCK ON:
elena dementieva, serena williams, caroline wozniacki, ana ivanovic
david nalbandian, rafael nadal, andy murray, gael monfils, jo-wilfried tsonga
