Kuznetsova's pattern

The last two years Kuznetsova has lost in the J&S Cup final in Warsaw and then gone on to lose to the eventual champion in the fourth round of the French Open. If Kuznetsova loses to Clijsters in the final today I wonder how many of us will be looking forward to her fourth round matchup at the French with a lot of interest (and superstition).

Best left-right combination by a German (and that includes Max Schmeling): Steffi Graf. All she did in 1987 was knock Navratilova out of #1 and try to knock Evert out of the sport. (Mike Lupica in "The Best and Worst of Tennis in 1987", World Tennis)

"A couple of years ago, we nicknamed Steffi Graf's forehand 'Jaws'. And that music would go perfectly when she starts running in to the net, swarming on that little ball." (JoAnne Russell, during the 1988 Wimbledon final between Graf and Navratilova)

sorry the 4th rd match up ain't happening this year. Seeds 1-4 can only draw seeds 13-16 rd 4. But interesting!

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

I wasn't talking about Kuznetsova playing Clijsters in round 4 of the French. I was merely pointing out a pattern that has held for three years now and wondering whether the other (independent) pattern will hold as well. I mean, Kuznetsova has to play someone in her 4R match, right? I do hope it's Myskina who then goes on to recapture her form and win her second French title.
