If you do, ok!
If you want to seed players based on past performances, Nav would be the top seed. That = :retard: If Nav is just playing for fun, then she should be refused a WC.. I think she should be refused anyway but that's another matter.

nor should they. but my point is if they are going to do special seeding for anyone, who male or female is more deserving based on the Wimbledon results? andy r., andy murray, tim henman? i think not!
OK, I see your point. But traditionally they've always altered the mens significantly more, I can't see them suddenly doing it for Venus.

With the men... IMO, they have more of a reason to do it. For the WTA... surfaces aren't as important... if you're a good player you should be able to reach the semi's of all 4 slams and be able to win fairly big titles on every surface. ATP: When we get to the grass season, the South American's/clay court players do crap, a lot don't even bother playing. There are very few men capable of reaching the Wimbledon semi's, so bumping down the clay specialists and giving good grass players higher seedings is somewhat justified to me.

Women's tennis sucks.

Wimbledon...Smibledon!
You are spot on w/ your criticism. They are much more apt to change the mens seedings than womans. It makes much less since to change Andys seeding than Venus. As far as I know he has never won the tournament and Venus' record speaks for itself. True she will most likely enter Wimbledon outside of the top 8, barring a MAJOR result at RG, which could happen, but even so, a 3-5 seed is appropriate IMO.
Also, they should def. seed Serena as her ranking will most likely be outside of the top 40, not sure where they would seed her if they did, but def. top 15 and Martina shouldn't be seeded #25, though it will most likely be higher at that time anyway...I just feel that it is a lack of respect for former champions to not be seeded higher, yet they raise the men who have never won the tournament, it kind of makes me sick...anyway.

But again, they will most likely not change the seedings for the women.

Seeds doesnt really matter for Venus. She's had very tough draws the past few years and it has been entertaining. So for me, Vee should be seeded based on her ranking.

Oh, I wasn't aware of this. SO Serena will most likely be a floater and could face anyone in the 1st round...ouch.

Only If......

Only if she moves up into the top 10 before Wimbledon. If she is not in the top 10 she should not get a higher ranking..............but we all know baby girl don't need a higher ranking to win Wimby ..............14th seed ring a bell .......ding dong, ding dong

true enough... this is less about can she do it as a 14, 20, or 32 seed, and more about equality and her deserving her place and respected as a top competitor on the grass. as most has said, her results speak for themselves.

TRUST ME, I DONT THINK any of the TOP 8 CURRENTLY...let me REPHRASE...I DONT THINK ANY OF THE TOP 4 CURRENTLY WOULDN'T Mind seeing Venus seeded Higher... they don't want to see her in the 32's, 16's or 8's to be honest...NOT ON GRASS THEY DON'T.

yeah, right!
I know. There is so much cheating going on in the sport of tennis it is laughable. On all levels. From the ranking system to the draws to the umpires. All the way to the tourney directors to the bank.

Of course Venus should get at least top 4 seed. Nobody is stepping up to dominate grass like she has. What is good for the goose should be good for the gander.

This isn't about you. I mean just because Venus kicks ass as a lower seed has no bearing on what is right and what is wrong. You people can sit in here and act like Wimbeldon is all sweet and fair. This British establishment is a joke. They treat women like second class citizens. They do for the men and yet do nothing for the women. I know they will not seed Venus higher than her rank.

1. She is a women

2. She is a black women.

VENUS IS THE QUEEN ON GRASS BUT I CAN'T STAND THE POLITICS BEHIND THIS BEHIND THE TIMES OLD ASS FOGEY ASS TOURNAMENT. i HOPE BLACK WOMEN CONTINUE TO HOLD UP THE TROPHY BECAUSE i KNOW IT WILL PISS OFF THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE TOURNAMENT.

gO vENUS. BEAT THEM ALL AND WIN ON GRASS.:-)
