I guess all the idiots that said Ana was worthless for losing to Dementieva in 3 sets will now come and admit they were wrong, as usual.

Elena is a 3 set specialist. Even Ms Tough As Nails Hardenne was out-toughed.

I think the board and the WTA Tour need to recognise that entering a third set with Elena is dangerous territory.

Good luck tomorrow Elena

Elena Dementieva AFR

so does this mean Sania Mirza and A. Yokomova (sp?) who also took Elena D. to three sets aren't worthless ? You"(in the past) have indicated that you think Sania Mirza is worthless

Umm... I think more likely than admitting they were wrong about Ana, they will say that Justine is also an idiot who can't play for crap and should be thrown off a cliff and fed to wolves.

The question hanging over Justine was is she still that tough in a third set - the answer is she is beatable.

The basic point though must be that if you are fit and fast enough to rally for three sets and you are reasonably consistent and play a smart varied enough game to make your opponent mentally as well as physically tired you can do very well at present. Kim and Justine can do it but not as long as they used to be able to perhaps, Hingis can do it, Schiavone can do it but may not win, Patty can do it when not too tired herself, Nastya could do it but lacks the consistency so far in 2006 , Elena is in a pretty good position - she can do it and with even more firepower than she could deploy today,

Tennis is unpredictable-- simple as that. There are no logical rules that govern it.

If Player B def. Player A

and Player A def. Player C

Then it is not the case that Player B (will) def. Player C
