Too many points for ITF-tournaments?

I think that, with the disappearing of the quality points, they don't give enough points for wins in qualifying for WTA-tournaments.

Auckland Hard IV 5.50p Jan 8 06
1 Jill Craybas - Harkleroad-Q 2-6 6-1 7-64
Qual 3 Harkleroad(6) - Jelena Kostanic(1) 6-0 4-6 6-3
Qual 2 Harkleroad(6) - Claudine Schaul 6-1 6-3
Qual 1 Harkleroad(6) - Agnes Szavay 6-2 7-5

Pittsburgh (Hard - $75k - PA - 7p) Nov 13 05
2 Lilia Osterloh-Q - Harkleroad 6-2 6-2
1 Harkleroad - Ahsha Rolle 6-2 6-3

Harkleroad got 5,5 points for three wins, among them one against Kostanic, in a Tier 4, whereas she gets 7 points for one win against Asha Rolle. It doesn't seem logical to me.

Fot the quallies of the bigger tiers it is even worse. I think they should encourage players ranked 50-150 to play (the bigger) WTA tournaments by increasing the points. If not, players ranked 50-90 will stick to lower Tiers and players 90-150 will stick to the ITF-circuit. Quallies at Tier 1 and 2 will become a big joke.

Yeah definitely more points should be given for WTa qualifying. Sometimes u can get more points for winning a 10K than u can for beating top 100 players in qualifying.

I agree. This system makes no sense at all.

Completely agree. That's an aspect the WTA completely forgot about when they decided to get rid of the bonus points.

Similarly, for exemple, Angelique Kerber won a 25k in Saguenay this week, beating Tetreault, a WC, in the finals. She received 25 points for that win, beating so-so players all week long. And then, Stephanie Dubois won rockford earlier this year, beating former top 100 Arn and Pastikova, Gajdosova, Liggan and Perianu, and she received the same amount of points. Once again the wta loves quantity and not quality....
