There is no clear favorite. Heck any qualifier could win.

Perfect setting for Mirza to defend even though she is not really doing well yet in 06. Peer does have that first win under her belt and Elena Vesnina had that great confident run in Melbourne.

Aiko Nakamura has been the surprising and best performing Japanese player so far this year.

My darkhorses are Vania King and Akgul Amanmuradova.
