Switzerland Fed Cup hopes?

I don't normally follow Fed Cup but with Hingis back and Schnyder in top ten, what are their chances this year? Next year?

They came awfully close in 1998. I think they could win it.

Divas: Seles, Sharapova, Muguruza
Pas de Quatre:
Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Coppélia

Germany is dreaming of something like that. To have two like hingis/ Schnyder or Henin/ Clijsters.
We only have Groenefeld, who is playing at that level, and she is struggling at the moment.

It would be very interesting with Hingis and Schnyder in a Team. But Team USA is there too! And if Davenport and one of the Williams Sister will be playing, a win for switzerland would be hard!

quote from Patty's website:

"I already went out on the court more than 40 times in the Fedcup for Switzerland, which is more than anybody else has done."

Patty had a fight with Gagliardi (or Casanova, can't remember) two years ago, since then she has said a zillion times that she won't play Fedcup any more. But if Hingis announces she's going to play, that would put a lot of pressure on Patty to come back. So it really depends on what Hingis decides.

She had a fight with Gagliardi because of the olympics doubles in Athens.
Gagliardi had to play them but the federation decided to let Patty playing doubles with Myriam Casanova.

I agree with ya, if Martina comes back, I'm pretty sure Patty wll too. But I don't know if Martina will decide to come back or not.

people seem to forget France's own Momo and Mary.

MARIA SHARAPOVA: "Amélie, you know it doesn't really matter at this point. I mean, I'd love to, I mean, Amélie is No. 1 in the world. She's playing great tennis. You know, I love that challenge of going out there and competing against the best in the world."
You'd love to what, Maria?

True. If all the top players play Fed Cup there would be some good tennis

France - Amelie and Mary
USA - Williams sisters/Davenport
Switzerland - Hingis and Schnyder
Belgium - Clijsters and Henin-Hardenne
Italy - Pennetta and Schiavone
Russia - Take your pick

Any price for Fed cup for players who anticipate the Fed cup.
