Being #1 in tennis makes you a C-list celebrity by default, so the question seems redundant.

I've never had to choose, so I don't know. I suspect that if I had acheived tremendous success as a tennis player, possessed qualities that many people found appealing and was offered movie roles and other similar opportunities, I'd consider myself very fortunate. I doubt that I'd be troubled by people who make snide criticisms directed at me. I undoubtedly wouldn't even know they existed and would go about the business of living large, loving life and laughing all the way to the bank.

I think doing what you want is more important.

Supporting:
Serena "Making Threats" Williams

If you're getting hella, and I mean hella attention, no matter what you're doing, can you get that C bumped up to at least a B? B+

Björk
Imperious in victory. Never conceiving the possibility of defeat. The greatest of her era. The self-belief, that smile, backhand, muscles, serve, personality, all larger than life. There's no greater sight in women's tennis than watching Serena J. Williams go to work.
The others are Great, but Serena's the Greatest
