VENUS: Last week at #1 for a while?

Even if little sis stops Capriati again in the finals at the German Open, it may not be enough to keep the Swearin' Cicilian from getting the top spot back again.

Unless Miss Manners is stopped before the semis, (hopefully ) she will be #1 again next week.

But, VENUS will just have to get the spot back by doing well at the Italian Open and Roland Garos.

This is making for some very interesting drama, especially since it looks like Hingis will be out of action for a few weeks again.

The fans, promoters and TV networks love this situation as well.

So, let the games continue.

Jennifer has to win Berlin to regain the #1 slot.

Mirjana Lucic : Australian Open doubles champ and back in Top 100

Jelena Jankovic : US Open finalist 2008 and World No. 1

Jennifer Capriati : 3 Grand Slams, Olympic Gold and World No.1

Thanks, Mark.

I calculated that Cappy had to get to the finals to get the points for #1.
I am now confident that SERENA will do what needs to be done.

doesn't Jennifer have to go through Justine to get to the finals? I would LOVE to see that match. Rematch from last year! Assuming they both make it that far of course.

Moon, are we cyber twins?

We think so much alike.

Maybe we could see you-know-who's face looking the way we like it to look in a Cappy/Henin match.

Also, I hope that you had a good birthday.

Well, you know what they say about great minds...

this is one case will I will gladly miss seeing Serena if they show this match! I just hope Rena has been working hard on clay. The mistakes she made against Patty can definitely be rectified.

btw--I had a great birthday!
