Exclamation Serena and Hingis commit to Berlin - Qatar promises to keep tourney Tier I

sources are several small articles in the German press, also yahoo Germany is writing about the tournament...
http://www.freiepresse.de/NACHRICHTE...IS/429298.html

This article says Sheikh Bin Faleh Al-Thani rejects all specualtions about taking the tournament away from Berlin or changing it status.
Furthermore, he promises a strong field with Serena Williams, who committed by contract and Martina Hingis.

Serena commited per contract? we will see if she is really playing
but good news for berlin tournament

Something was bound to go right sometime today, All these broken pieces fit together to make a perfect picture of us
It got cold and then dark so suddenly and rained, It rained so hard the two of us were the only thing
That we could see for miles and miles
And in the middle of the flood I felt my worth, When you held onto me like I was your little life raft
Please know that you were mine as well
Drops of water hit the ground like God's own tears
And spread out into shapes like Salad bowls and basins and buckets for bailing out the flood

I really hope both play there, who else besides them and Justine is commited? Kim? Amelie? Maria? Patty? It should be a great tournament. And it's also good news that it'll continue to be Tier I, but they should promote the tournament better, I think. It seemed to me that in 2005, Warsaw was far more successful (relatively) than Berlin.

Excellent news! Germany has such a glorious tradition as a great tennis nation and this particular tournament is older than Roland Garros and Australia. It would be just terrible if this event ceased to exist or got moved elsewhere. It's super for the tournament that great champions like Hingis and Serena have committed to play but they too should also feel privileged to be part of such a prestigious event.

I'll believe it when I see it, but it's a good way to pre-sell tickets.
