Anyone Reckoning / Hoping Lucie Will Usher Patty Out of Gold Coast?

I don't know why but for some reason Patty is starting to annoy me. Also with this new ranking system, she is getting WAY too close to TOP 5, a ranking she never would have had with the old ranking system. That is why she has got to go. Lucie is playing well and I hope she takes out Patty. But Patty has experience on her side and has whipped youngsters unaccustomed to her game like Ivanovic and Haynes.

It would be nice for Lucie to win, but I think Patty will win the Quarter Final on experience.

sorry but if her career highs keep coming as a result of the screwed up new ranking system, it will come with an asterick in my book

Name one "up-and-coming" player who has beaten Patty in the last 12 months. That's right, you can't, she has hammered every single one of them. Plus Safarova is lefty and Patty has a great record whem playing other lefties.

I'm going with Patty here. What has got her in the top 10 is winning these Teir IIIs she happens to play during the year. In 2003, she was awful in Teir IIIs or IVs. In 2004 she did get better. In 2005 she started to shine in them. She doesn't mind being the player that everyone is gunning to beat. If Hingis wants to win this tourni, then she is likely going to have to beat Patty. That is not an easy feat considering Patty's now 19-6 record here.

I want Lucie win, but youngsters usually struggle against Patty as her tennis is very unorthodox. Patty spins will drive Lucie into oblivion.

Patty will win 6-2 6-4
