Who is the fastest WTA player on foot? Watch my commentary....

Who is the fastest WTA player on foot?
Like if you were to line them up for a 100 metres race. I'm judging my opinion on how quick the players move around the court. The eight fastest who would qualify for the 100 metres final in any order are;

1. Justine Henin
2. Arantxa Sanchez Vicario
3. Venus Williams
4. Amanda Coetzer
5. Jelena Dokic
6. Serena Williams
7. Jennifer Capriati
8. Kim Clijsters.

The quickest out of the block (at the word 'Go") would be Amanda Coetzer. Her reactionary start is very fast. But she will be caught barely ten metres into the race by Venus Williams who with her long striding steps will dominate the fast half. Serena will suddenly burst into the front with her enegertic muscles and raw power and so will Henin. As they all come close to the tape breathing down each other's neck, the Williams sisters will be two strides ahead of four of the runners but it will be Arantxa Sanchez Vicario who will finish by a metre in front of the Williamses. Coetzer will suddenly re-apper and finish second. The Williams sisters will finish third and fourth in a photo finish with Serena claiming third position by a hair's breadth. Justine Henin will finish fifth, Capriati 6th, Clijsters 7th and Dokic 8th.

Results of the race Time (as recorded electronically)
1. Sanchez-Vicario Arantxa (ESP) 12.36sec
2. Coetzer Amanda (RSA) 12.47sec
3. Williams Serena (USA) 12. 58sec
4. Williams Venus (USA) 12. 59sec
5. Henin Justine (BEL) 12. 75sec
6. Capriati Jennifer (USA) 12.97sec
7. Clijsters Kim (BEL) 13.56sec
8. Dokic Jelena (YUG) 13.85sec

Do you guys agree with this scenario? Who should be in the final 8 and who shouldn't? Who would/should've win/won in your opinion???
Tell me about it!!!!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Anna K. pretty speedy herself. She does get to a lot of balls, even if she can't get them back.

Replace ASV with somebody younger. .
How about Elena Dementieva. Even though her court movement isn't the best, she's very fast in a straight line. .

1. Venus
2. Justine
3. Jennifer
4. Serena

Serena could be #1, but she is not fit enough.
She has an explosive first step, probably better then Venus, but she gets tired fast. Venus on the other hand only gets faster. Justine is very fast also, and Jennifer runs like the Energizer Bunny(keeps going and going an dgoing at very top speeds). Amanda is very fit, but not the fastest, she can be out the whole they running, but not at the very fast speed, she is consistent thought in running, Martina is all about anticipation.

hehe lol at this thread

i would put my money on Amanda Coetzer fot the 100m. A lot of people say either of the Williams are the fastest. but those long legs really help and makes them look extremely fast. but still, that explains why their opponents can't make winners that easily on them. Arantxa is also speedy, i think she is perfect for distant races.

Without a freaking doubt..

VENUS and then Serena!!

Venus has long strides and is very fast .. she gets to alot of balls that I have NEVER seen anyone on the WTA tour do. Plus she has the long legs to add that extra OOMPFTH, when already heading for the tape.

She already has a good track record as a child. Venus would of been great in track.

Dokic is actually ver quick, she doesn't look as quick as Clijsters because Kim slides, so Jelena actually has to take an extra couple of steps every time she runs wide, taking up more energy.

Elena Dementieva would beat these lot hands down, i've seen her do around 12 secs

but she is better at longer distances.

If Steffi was here i'm sure she'd do around 11.5 or less

Good luck to my favs

Serena was reported to have done an 11.8 in the 100 when she was 16. Venus was doing a 12.2 in the 100 around that age too.

I also think Anastasia Myskina would be in the top 5 - have you ever seen her run? She is lightning quick, and looks like a top athlete. I reckon Tatiana Panova must be pretty quick also.

I've got another race though - slowest on the tour.

1. Monica Seles (USA) - 25.51 sec
2. Sandrine Testud(Fra) - 25.62 sec
3. Lindsay Davenport (USA) - 29.01 sec
4. Mary Pierce (Fra) - 30.98 sec
5. Rita Kuti Kis (Hun) - 33.76 sec
6. Iva Majoli (Cro) - 34.78 sec
7. Amy Frazier (USA) - 39.50 sec
8. Emelie Loit (Fra) - 40.23 sec
9. Alexandra Stevenson (USA) - 56.83 sec
10. Marjana Lucic (Cro?) - 81.99 sec

That is one race I would love to see.
