It is quite likely that Venus and Serena..

will be #1 and #2 for the period between RG and W. It would not take much for that to happen. Basically with all this injuries and points to defend it will take Capriati not defending her RG title, Serena doing better than Seles and maybe couple of more little and quite likely(unlikely) things to happen(not to happen).

I hate the idea if this would happen, not because I don't like to see them #1 and #2 - in my book strength-wise they are #1 and #2 at the moment. But in case that happens many of us might have to retreat from these boards because I may imagine the boards will become absolutely unbearable.

I hope that it happens. In anycase the board is filled with posters from every players fan who are unbearable. Mainly because those posters have tunnel vision when it comes to their favorite and can't seem to give any other player any credit.

These posters usually dont have their facts straight or actually misquote people.

Also if it ever becomes that unbearable then i'd be sorry to see you go eventhough I dont agree with 90 percent of what you write.

It is POSSIBLE for that to happen but Monica Seles may have a lot to say about that since she is defending no points at Rome and Roland Garros. Also Jenn has no points or nearly none at Rome to defend so if she gets to the finals in Berlin or wins and picks up point and then does well at Rome and defends at least half of her points at Roland Garros then she should still have about 4500 pts or so which may very well be enough to stay ahead of Serena since Serena will have to defend her qf points at Roland Garros. In other words it's all up in the air still

That's what I say, treufreund.. Serena should do better in these tournaments than Capriati and Seles, and that's it. In safe after-RG points the three are pretty close.. Another entertaining possibility is whether Seles has a shot at #1 if she wins RG.

Who is the fastest WTA player on foot?

Like if you were to line them up for a 100 metres race. I'm judging my opinion on how quick the players move around the court. The eight fastest who would qualify for the 100 metres final in any order are;

1. Justine Henin
2. Arantxa Sanchez Vicario
3. Venus Williams
4. Amanda Coetzer
5. Jelena Dokic
6. Serena Williams
7. Jennifer Capriati
8. Kim Clijsters.

The quickest out of the block (at the word 'Go") would be Amanda Coetzer. Her reactionary start is very fast. But she will be caught barely ten metres into the race by Venus Williams who with her long striding steps will dominate the fast half. Serena will suddenly burst into the front with her enegertic muscles and raw power and so will Henin. As they all come close to the tape breathing down each other's neck, the Williams sisters will be two strides ahead of four of the runners but it will be Arantxa Sanchez Vicario who will race by a metre in front of the Williamses. Coetzer will suddenly re-apper and finish second. The Williams sisters will finish third and fourth in a photo finish with Serena claiming third position by a hair's breadth. Justine Henin will finish fifth, Capriati 6th, Clijsters 7th and Dokic 8th.

Results of the race Time (as recorded electronically)
1. Sanchez-Vicario Arantxa (ESP) 12.36sec
2. Coetzer Amanda (RSA) 12.47sec
3. Williams Serena (USA) 12. 58sec
4. Williams Venus (USA) 12. 59sec
5. Henin Justine (BEL) 12. 75sec
6. Capriati Jennifer (USA) 12.97sec
7. Clijsters Kim (BEL) 13.56sec
8. Dokic Jelena (YUG) 13.85sec

Do you guys agree with this scenario? Who should be in the final 8 and who shouldn't? Who would/should've win/won in your opinion???
Tell me about it!!!!!

That was directed at J_Migoe's sprint scenario.

But if you really want to know: Serena is the fastest in a 100m sprint.

You're probably right about the board YS. Aside from the happiness, joy and rejoicing of Williams fans ... the jealousy, envy, bitterness, and veiled-racism of SOME anti-Williams fans will no doubt surface

But if Venus and Serena can accomplish this historic feat, I say ..... BRING IT ON, CAUSE I'M READY.

You know ys, you have a good point. I think that if Venus and Serena becomes numbers #1 and 2, their fans will be jouvalent and ecstatic for them. I also think that the board would become "
unbearable" only because others have doubted them and criticized them for so long because they have stated in the past exactly what they felt. They've always felt that they have the game, spirit, knowledge, and athleticism to be 1 and 2 in the world, but because they were fresh on the scene and carried themselves with such confidence, a lot of players and fans have felt anamosity towards them and have wished bad luck upon them. There surely would be a lot of cheering and bashing at the same time. I would probably take a break away from the board myself.

Dammitt, Venus!!!
