I was just thinking, "the sisters haven't won at the Open since 2002." That's going to be four years this year. That's a long time! I expect either a US win or an Aussie win.

I've always considered Wimbledon as Venus' and the Australian Open as Serena's. I wonder if Venus will ever win RG or the AO...

Nah, Serena won't be ready by Oz next year to win, but I think that Serena will win Wimbledon next year. The way Venus is playing as of now, she'll be a huge threat to win in Oz.

Yes I think Venus will compete with the best.
But Serena will be a bust.

I am with you that Venus is probably better prepared to win in Oz and I'd really like to see her take it, but I also want her to defend her Wimbledon title. That leaves the French or U.S. Open for Serena; of the two, I think we can see Serena's game coming together nicely for the U.S. Open.

Have you read my realistic predictions for 2006? If not, here they are:

Aus. Open

Venus def. Kim 6-3 7-6 (4)

RG

Kim/Justine def. Mary 6-3 6-2

Wimby

Serena def. Justine 6-1 6-4

USO (furthest in future and neutral surface, hardest to predict now)

Venus def. Serena 6-3 3-6 6-4

I want Venus to the hardcourt slams because she hasn't played great on hardcourts since 2002. Time to rumble on the hard stuff. Serena will be on a mission at Wimbledon, and Justine will surprisingly beat Venus in the semis of Wimbledon. Venus will lose at RG in the qtrs. to Pierce.

Sorry, I should have specified. I meant in terms of career acheivments, I've always considered Serena as the Oz Open winner, and Venus as the Wimbledon winner.

Casey Dellacqua, Jelena Jankovic, Anna-Lena Groenefeld,
