Mathematically, it's very possible. Lindsay has major points to defend and Kim does not. Also they are so close in the rankings. I think Kim would have to take an early exit and Lindsay would have to at least reach final. Go LINDS!
Lindsay loses the bonus point from last year, under the new system. That hurts her a lot. I don't know the exact details but it's almost assured that she won't be ranked number one after the Australian Open. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
