Nicole Pratt Drops Bombshell: "I Am Playing Like A Top 50 Player"
Pratt aiming for wildcardSportalAustralian veteran Nicole Pratt believes her past performances should be enough to win her a wildcard into the Australian Open.
An injury-plagued 2005 has seen Pratt's ranking drop to 126, not enough to earn her an automatic berth in the first Grand Slam of the Year.
Pratt is embarking on a gruelling summer schedule to get herself ready for the tournament, and told Channel Ten she hopes her record of a fourth round appearance and two third rounds at the Australian Open will win her a spot.
"I will be devastated if I wasn't given the opportunity given what I have done in the past," she said.
"My ranking has just slipped out of that cutoff point and I hope Tennis Australia officials recognise I am playing like a top 50 player."
