well she has a kid and husband now so a comeback will be difficult imo, at least for the moment, kid is young, i would prefer to see her looking after her kid atm but then i don't think it's ever a good idea to be away from your kid while they're growing up for to long. certainly though she only just had the child so i think if she is to comeback it will be a few years. and even if she comes back it's going to be tough for her to get her play up to a high level, she's missed some vital young years on the tour where players learn and develop.

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

The Boiled Egg is our resident expert on Lina K. Loads of info on Lina in Russian Roulette (Player Forums).

Before the birth Lina has said she would like to attempt a comeback, either end 06, beginning 07. Who knows now that she is a Mum?

All those injuries/illnesses through 02, 04 and 05 might mean it will all be too much for her. Whatever makes her happy - she is a great girl (still only 21)- miss seeing her though.

PS Anyone got that Lina vs Kim match on tape?

Well other mother's have successfully had top 100 careers so no reason why Lina can't get back up the rankings if she wants it.

Sybille Bammer has just made her highest ranking this year, and she has a young child. Lindsay Lee Waters made top 100 as a mum not too long ago and Rossana De Los Rios is also a tennis playing mum, as is Alice Canepa I believe.

when i say high level i meanher potential when she first came on the scene which was top 15/20 maybe even top 10. she's had alkl those injuries which not only now make it tougher on her body to compete but it means she lost a lot of training and on court play during those injuries, and because these injuries occurred when she was so young and just trying to make it on the tour it means she didn't get the experience that most pro's get of learning and developing her game. i honestly have no doubt if she is to comeback she could be a top 100 player, but i think for lina, with the talent she had/has it would be a shame for her to only have a top 100 career (don't get me wrong top 100 is a great achievement).

Yeah.. actually, Lina is still quite young. She could've maybe been top 10 if injuries hadn't cut her down at the most inopportune times.

I'm not sure if she will ever come back with a family to raise now.
