Mirza Making a Move in 2006?

I've watched half of one of her matches, and another clip of her practicing, and she looks like she's got a ton of potential. Of course, I've been looking for players and being disappointed for years now, but does anyone actually think she'll make the break-through into the top 10, and do well in the majors this coming year? Either way, explain why. I haven't seen enough of her to have formed a good opinion (yet).

There is nothing more beautiful than Evonne Goolagong in full flight moving across a tennis court.

I've seen Mirza play a few times and she has a pretty big game. Her serve isn't anything special but she has nice groundies. At this point in time she goes for way too much too often. She also has lots of laps of concentration. She's fun to watch and I think she gives pretty entertaining interviews.
Right now she def has top 20 kind of game. If she develops her serve more and constructs more points I don't see why she couldn't be in the top ten in the future.

Sania has a few key weaknesses like a first serve of pace but little variety and a pretty poor second serve. Also her shot selection and movement could do with significant improvement. Her net game ofcourse needs a lot of work. Hence she has a lot of improverment to make. But i think the serve and shot selection may be the key areas to her rise to top ten.

But the encouraging news she is getting the best expertise(atleast for 3 weeks in december)in form of Tony roche and they are especially expected to work on the serve and volley, areas roche is renowned for. I am keenly looking forward to the improvement she may make after the roche stint in the next 12 moinths or so.

I first saw mirza play a couple of years ago.Strange really, because I usually wait for players to put it all together, and then jump on the bandwagon(saves a lot of disappointments ).Her shotmaking abilities really caught my eye,and i thought lets keep an eye on this kid.Her forehand particularly,is a beautiful shot. One of those 'jesus!' shots

At this point I think she has a number of flaws, but also something special.Right now I'd say top20 for sure.I think she has to fix her serve, and work on her fitness, and then i'll revise that.I'll see what Roche has done to her serve before making any predictions for the year. Her first serve, particularly to the ad-court can be very good when its going in,but her mechanics need work, and the second serve is nonexistent.

Her point construction at this point is rudimentary, she rather goes for winners from anywhere and everywhere. Her strength, as well as in a way her achilles heel is that she has no fear of anyone or anything. In fact she rather reminds me of a tennis player trying to play cricket, and find the gap with every shot. But she can be surprisingly versatile in her shots, and unsually instinctive. There's more to her than just hitting hard. Her shotmaking can be quite breathtaking at times. However, she needs patience and discipline. If I was an indian she would have driven me mad,and bald by now

I think she might make quite a splash in the next few years, but I don't think it'll be in 2006.She's such an unusual player both in her style, and her approach that I can't say anything for sure.
But she improves very quickly, and I would not be surprised at anything. She is also extremely tough, mentally. It could be worth being patient with her.

Her forehand is one of the very few WOW shots on the tour at the moment. But sometimes it can also be more of a EEK shot.

Her biggest problem is her movement. You can't use your best shots if you cant get to the ball in time.

I'm hoping there is no sophmore slump, hopefully she can make the improvements in movement, serve, and net play, and hopefully she's recovered from her injuries esp. the ankle.

who is Mizra?

Something was bound to go right sometime today, All these broken pieces fit together to make a perfect picture of us
It got cold and then dark so suddenly and rained, It rained so hard the two of us were the only thing
That we could see for miles and miles
And in the middle of the flood I felt my worth, When you held onto me like I was your little life raft
Please know that you were mine as well
Drops of water hit the ground like God's own tears
And spread out into shapes like Salad bowls and basins and buckets for bailing out the flood

As always (and with anyone here), thanks for spelling and gramatical correction to my posts. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. It's the most difficult thing for me to not correct spelling errors when I see them.
