DISASTER to Shuai Peng's carrer!!!!

In 2006,may be Shuai will not have her own coach and physical trainer, because she didn't do well in 10th National Games.
Tianjin Tennis Association, who provided all the expenses of Shuai's training and her tournaments ,has made a decision that they will not provide much money for Shuai. So Peng can't afford the high salary of her coach and training in Florida.
Shuai had to back to national team in October, and trained with Na Li and Jie Zheng until she can solve this problem by herself.
Shuai said she didn't wanna back to national team, because she wanna be a real professional player. She feel so upset that there's not a proper coach for her in national team(Chinese national team has 3 coaches in total),and no one can make a good schedule of training and tournaments for her.So There is some doubt in her mind whether national team can give her a good training condition.
Though Chinese tennis officials and other players of national team are happy to see Shuai's back,Shuai still want to play tournaments alone. She is trying to find a sponsor to support her, but CTA and Shuai were divided in their opinions about it. CTA want to hold part of sponsor. If Shuai do well in Beijing Olympic Games, they will give them back to Shuai.Shuai said she can't understand it.If she can get one million dollars' sponsor, she have to pay for tax first, then give about 20 percent to her agent and give CTA a part.she's afriad the money left can't enough for her.
Peng also said she didn't make any preperation for Hopman Cup,because she can't use her racket, her racket is not like the normal one, some parts of her racket have been refited. Her former coach Allen is the only person who knows that totally.
She've sent some rackets to Allen,He will refit them and sent them back just few days before AO.So Shuai cannot use her own racket in Hopman Cup and Sydeny!
She will play with national team for about 3 months, but she still try to find a good solution to her problem.
"I wanna be a real professional player!"Shuai said.

I don't understand this.China wants to produce top tennis players for the olympics, and yet they put so much pressure on them.Shuai playing as a professional is not going to ruin her chances at the olympics.

Shuai

So if she had won the match against Jie Zheng in the final she would have gotten funding talk about alot riding on one match

Oh well. If Na and Jie etc can put up with training in the CTA, Shuai should be able to also

You don't get what THEIR problem is!?!?

"....provided all the expenses of Shuai's training and her tournaments"

They pay the bills. It's that simple. They paid for her training since she was a little girl. They have a system to allocate resources. Part of that is doing well in the national tournament. If Shuai Peng wants to be 'a real professional player', part of that is NOT having the government paying your expenses, but rather earning the money yourself, or finding your own sponsors. They aren't telling her she can't play. They're just telling her that THEY aren't paying for her to do things her own way.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

All this is partly Peng's own fault
She had some awful results to end the year
1R loss to Laine at USO when she predicted she had a chance to win
loss to Gronefeld in Beijing
loss to someone random in Guangzhou
loss to Zheng in Chinese Championships

Ah this is sad. I think it's scary to think how good some of these other Chinese girls would be if they got proper training.
