What would be a successful '06 for Hingis?

Presuming she plays the whole year, and somewhere in the range of 15-20 events. Like how many Slam QF's or even SF's, doing how well @ Tier I's and II's, maybe copping a couple of Tier III titles. (Feel free to name tournaments, besides Zurich of course, that you consider likely for her to play).

I think she can win a whole bunch of Tier III tournaments, if she keeps improving. I mean, she's going to start slow, no doubt.

Let them eat cake.

I think QF's of a slam would be a great accomplishment for someone just coming back.

i think successful would be winning a title
i think very successful would be slam QF or SF and top25
i think amazing story would be slam F, titles, and YEC

It will always be Arantxa, hall of famer! and martina hingis and kim clijsters - amazing legends
ana ivanovic and the italian girls, especially pennetta (forza azzurre! RG CHAMP FRANCESCA AND FINALIST SARA!)
aga, vika, sam, na in the next tier
NEVER say "I don't care who wins, I just want good tennis"

There are obviously going to be a lot of expectations for her. I think (provided she's healthy) she should do rather well, but no one should expect the Top-Ten-Hingis we all remember to return in 2006. Good luck to her!

FILL-IN-THE-DRAW TITLES (16)
Pattaya City 2006 + Paris Indoors 2007 + Acapulco 2007 + Bad Gastein 2008

Brisbane 2012 + Auckland 2012 + Bogota 2012 + Kuala Lumpur 2013
Dubai 2014 + Montreal 2014 + Seoul 2014 + Sofia TOC 2014

Q. Now you are the No. 1 of your family, in this moment. DINARA SAFINA: Yeah (smiling).Q. Yes, it's true. Are you happy? DINARA SAFINA:
Yeah, very (smiling). No, I mean, you cannot compare me and my brother. I am No. 1, but when he will put
gasoline in himself, he will be again No. 1. But I have to enjoy my time at least when I am now No. 1 (smiling).

Thanks for posting ranking related stuff, I left that out B4. Also: who are some players you think Hingis:

- should beat
- its a toss-up
- probably can't (assuming both are healthy)

If she wins the French Open, the only Grand Slam she hasn't won and the most important tournament of the year, that would be a successful '06.

Top 20 is a good goal. Don't expect a top 10 year end ranking..

let's start with top 100 for 2006 after that we will see

it's not that easy to be in the top 20 after 3 years no competition

-If she were able to be seeded at the Australian Open '07
-If she wins a title or two, even if it's a Tier IV
-If she reaches the 4th round of a Slam
-If she pulls off a top 10 or 15 scalp at some stage during the year.

I say Top 20, one smaller tournament say Pattaya, and maybe a GS QF, also doing well say the SF of Zurich woul be great. Also if she plays a full doubles schedule Top 10 there, with 2 Title and solid GS showings.
