"If Roger wanted to come with Martina we might have to chuck someone out... "

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taken from http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/:

McNamee said any of the lead-up Australian tournaments would love to offer Hingis a wild-card. He is also tournament director at the Hopman Cup in Perth, for which seven of the eight nations have been confirmed, ruling out Hingis. China and the Netherlands will play off for the last spot.

"Not possible, it's all done and dusted there, although if (Roger) Federer wanted to come with her we might have to chuck someone out," he said with a laugh.

Hingis and Federer won the 2001 Hopman Cup. They made the 2002 Sydney International an all-Swiss affair by winning the singles titles.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

So, who are we chucking out? Hehehe...

Consistency is the key...

What the hell does that mean???

In his Ozarkian dialect, it sounds like he's saying they would bump someone in the main draw for Martina and Roger???

Any interpreters present???

can you blame him? i would do it too, no matter how bad it looks...sorry to say it, china's men's players wouldn't be competitive in the field, just have switz play in vs. netherlands and they'll definitely win (even if hingis loses singles, they won't lose the doubles)

It will always be Arantxa, hall of famer! and martina hingis and kim clijsters - amazing legends
ana ivanovic and the italian girls, especially pennetta (forza azzurre! RG CHAMP FRANCESCA AND FINALIST SARA!)
aga, vika, sam, na in the next tier
NEVER say "I don't care who wins, I just want good tennis"

I wouldnt blame him, there is absolutely no comparison between the swiss and the dutch teams. the dutch should be booted out, who cares about Wessels and whatever bint they find from holland who's ranked 9928390817398

have you been looked in cupboard your whole life with nothing but the Oxford Dictionary? These expression aren't specific to Australia.

You really think any tournament director would not make room for Hingis and Federer? In any case "he said with a laugh" clearly shows he was making a light hearted joke about a situation that will never occur - so calm down.

In other words, Fed and Marti would be home and hosed and someone might have to get dumped.

although i would love to see Marti and Roger play there again its clear Paul McNamee is not going to persue it, and i doubt Martina or Roger would show interest now with the tournament only a month away, its a bit late, the teams where chosen ages ago.

She's ranked 59 actually... And it would be Krajicek.

And i'm pretty sure it was a JOKE, as the article said he was LAUGHING when he said it. I'll bet he wishes he could get them to come to Perth though!
