Supposedly Hingis starts her comeback in Gold Coast

Martina Hingis: Wildcard in Australien

It is also mentioned that she will play the Australian Open.
Wow...She really is ready then. I wish her all the luck.

If this is true, she can face Masha in the second round! (if she wins a round that is)
Schiavone, Dechy, Golovin, Sugiyama, Bovina, Schnyder and Safina will also be there. It will be tough but a very good test.

Interesting that Martina Navratilova has already asked her to play doubles with her, and Martina accepted

Not sure if its an entirely reliable article though, looks like it could be just gossip and hearsay....

hmmm I really doubt it for now but it sure would be surprising and interesting...
I think we should really wait until the official announcement of her schedule or her press conference. If she does play gold coast, you really couldn't ask for a more interesting season opening match than one between Maria-Martina! It would be better though if they don't meet early on...

Maria Sharapova
