Hingis vs Dokic vs Capriati: Who will have a better 2006?

Different players, different styles, different reasons for their absence from the tour.

capriati

i think she'll do the best cause she has the most power but i think both dokic and hingis will be forces to be reckoned with later on in the season maybe even australia

Capriati. She is, realisticly, the only one that can still keep up with the rest, even being out for a while. She hits hard and consistently, sometimes.

Hingis and Dokic, I believe, will have success, just Capriati knows the current tour more than those. Shes competed with the ones at the top at the moment.

fuck.

I stopped believing in a Seles comeback years ago. The older you are, the more superior your conditioning has to be. Seles never got in shape post-stabbing. She vacillated from overweight to fat. She was so damn talented she was still a top player. I'm sure she'd still be one of the hardest hitters on tour, but that's not enough. A player has to have the speed and endurance too. Davenport is in the best shape of her career. That's why she can still perform at an elite level. If Monica came back at 1989 slender, then maybe. But no way at the weight she was carrying in 2001.

NOTE on Capriati: Of the three, she was the most prone to get out of shape, and the one who's performance increased the most most whhen she was at her lightest weight. Has she kept her weight down?

I haven't seen a picture of Capriati in anything skin-tight in over a year. Please post a few. JCap back in fighting trim in good news. I sure would like to see a few more Serena-Jenn battles.

I say Dokic b/c I don't think Capriati will really come back & if she does, what shape will she be in..

I don't think Hingis will comeback for long, if she does at all. She may get discouraged immediately & just drop her plans.

Being back in Australia has the potential to change Jelena's career, if she works hard. She'll have the opportunity for lots more WCs than previous years & hopefully Aus. can provide her with a good coach & keep her interested.

Interesting question:

Dokic seems to have shown the worst crash-out, but surprisingly she's probably the most conditioned out of the 3 right now.

Reguardless they are all starting from a clean slate... so bring on the early round upsets!

Jen seems to be the realistic choice, but I'm hoping Martina can do something! Jelena too!
