Her mother is her coach and should be her coach... Martina always did amazing things under her guidance. She should higher a serve coach ,though......

Proud to be one of Jen's hells angels
Team USA: Lindsay Davenport - Venus Williams - Serena Williams- Chanda Rubin

The Return of the Smilin' Assassin - MARTINA HINGIS

Her coach should be, I forget his name, the one who coached her on the WTT team.

Martina Hingis 4ever!!!

Now and forever, I'll remember.

Melanie Molitor should remain her coach forever, with help on the side from various coaches. Whenever she swayed from her mom, trouble happened.

Edit: Her WTT coach was Joe Giuliano, he's funny as hell and very enthusiastic. I wouldn't mind him helping her out a little.

Its sometimes not the coach, but the player. If Hingis says she is fired up to get going again at 25 then we can expect great things from her. Sure, many will doubt her form or her playing style...but with the injuries and players not wanting to play, Hingis will surely fill in the void that she left in 2002. Never say Never....I'm excited for my two girls Martina and Justine 2006~~!!!!

yes!! Joe should be her coach, he seem so enthusiastic about her and her game, her mother should be there as well but this time as a mom and supporter. Hingis needs something fresh and new!!

This is the most intriguing of questions. Martina is very devoted to Melanie, but I think she needs to at least augment Melanie's advise with the help of another coach, one who can help her serve. Joey and Martina seemed to get on very well, and he had nothing but praise for her work ethic and enthusiasm for the game when she played for the New York Sportimes. He would certainly be a candidate for the job.

Others who come to mind would be Nathalie Tauziat and Navratilova. Bad Gilbert is also available, but I don't think their personalities would mesh at all.(Brad strikes me as being about as much fun as a tax auditor.)

The other big question is, will Martina play doubles and if so, with whom. MY picks, assuming Anna does NOT come back, would be Kim or Gesila Dulko.

Brad Gilbert...hmmmm....he can whoop her up into shape ala Andre Agassi :-)

Seriously, I think Martina should be smart enough to know that she needs OUTSIDE coaching other than her mother to give her a new dimension to her game. She needs a bad cop out there training her day in and day out if she really wants to return to the top. Hey, Pat Etcheberry is in Saddle Brook too, so why not get in shape with him? I too, have a feeling she is forming her entourage as we speak.

Richard Williams WOULD be realistic. He has respect for her game, and no fear of bringing in out side help for things he doesn't know. Hingis' serve needs to come up, and RW coaches two of the best servers in the world.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

But what makes you think their serve has anything what so ever to do with Richard. Where exactly did he learn how to serve a tennis ball. He can stand on the court to pitch balls across the net to the girls, but their technique came from Rick Macci and a collection of other coaches, not from Richard.

I agree with her mom with the addition of a serve coach & probably a great trainer, not Etcheberry though someone similar to who Venus & Serena has (Kerri??) She does a pretty good job @ helping them deal with injuries, etc. IMO.

She's definitely got the $$$ to hire the best in each area, so she should
