Tamira Paszek: A promising player?

I'm watching her play in Linz right now and she's definitely impressive for a 14 year (!) old. Powerful strokes and a decent serve. WTA Tour says her ranking is 9999. I figure she hasn't played many tournaments yet?

She won a $25K in Sofia and now it's her WTA debut. She is a promising youngster indeed

I like her game, she hits the ball well and she seems to have a good on-court attitude too.

"Religion has actually convinced people that there is an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. Any if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But he loves you."

Impressive performance so far! She lead 5-2 but let Elena serve for the set at 5-6. Then Elena had 40-0 so 3 set points but Tamira scored 5 straight points to make the tiebreak. Then she was focused enough to win the set on her first set point. Elena wasted 4 set points in that first set.

It must be a joke if you say she has powerful groundstrokes. The ball flies sooo slow in the air. I don't think that she is a promising player.

Well she is one of the best 90' players (and there are many promising girls of that year), and tennis is not only power and she has enough time to become stronger

Well, compared to Mary Pierce, everyone will have slow groundstrokes. Paszek is very impressive...she doesn't whack the ball on every shot but she can hit hard when needed. She's able to hit shots from all over the court and has great movement. She reminds me a lot of Jennifer Capriati in all facets...as another thread claimed.
