Maret ANI: Very good year for Maret who makes her Top 100 debut this week thanks to a 1rst victory on the ITF tour in St Raphael 50K$ challenger. She upsetted 5th seed/n°95 Mara Santangelo. She jumped from more than 100 spots in a year (she was n°204 at the end of 2004).
Kateryna BONDARENKO: Another player who's having a very good season, Kateryna is frequentely listed on that thread. This week again, she's up from 9 places reaching the 2nd round of the qualies in Zurich TIer I 1,3 M$ ousting 9th seed/n°53 Virginie Razzano before loosing to n°48 Jill Craybas.
Agnes SZAVAY: One of the teen sensation of the year. Agnes is only 16 and get closer from the Top 150 (she was n°348 at the end of 2004). Last week, she reached the 3rd round of the qualies in Zurich Tier I 1,3M$ upsetting n°84 Julia Schruff and especially 4th seed/n°30 Anabel Medina Garrigues before falling to Roberta Vinci (n°47).

Lindsay DAVENPORT n°1 (+2): 18 months ago, Lindsay was hesitating to continue to play on the tour...and since that, she's battling for the n°1 position...it seems that she made the right choice. She has been winning last week her 51st tittle in Zurich Tier I 1,3M$ over local Patty Schnyder (6th seed/n°10). Lindsay prooved once again how determined she was saving 2 match points in the early round against Daniela Hantuchova (n°19).
Ana IVANOVIC n°17 (+4): Ana seems to be back to the level she had before the summer! She's also back in the Top 20 and closed to her best (n°16) reaching for the 1rst time a semi final in a Tier I (Zurich 1,3M$) loosing to eventual runner up Patty Schnyder.
Katerina SREBOTNIK n°31 (+12): Very goog run for Katerina in Zurich Tier I 1,3M$ reaching the Quater final as a qualifer. In the qualies she ousted 1rst seed/n°27 Flavia Pennetta, then she beat n°36 Shinobu Asagoe and created one of the biggest surprise over Amelie Mauresmo 2nd seed/n°4 before falling to Ana Ivanovic. Katerina is back closed to her best ranking (n°30 in february 2003).

Elena BALTACHA n°122 (+25): As 1rst seed; Elena won logically Jersey 25K$ Challenger beating 6th seed/n°306 Daniela Kix 2 weeks ago. Last week, she reached the 2nd round in St Raphael 50K$ challenger falling to eventual runner up Mara Santangelo.
Angelika BACHMANN n°191 (+21): Angelika is back in the Top 200 reaching the semi final in Houston 50K$ challenger falling to 1rst seed/n°77 and eventual champion Amy Frazier.
