Question Will Maria become Russia's greatest tennis player ever?

Like how Germany has Steffi Graf and France has Suzanne Lenglen?

I think so.

It'll be very poetic and she belongs up there. I can't see any current or future Russian woman threatening her from this position.

Thoughts?

If Dementieva ever improves that serve- look out, she'll be #1...

I'm not sure she'll quite be the Graf of Germany or the Lenglen of France, but she very well could be Russia's greatest tennis player.

No, fool, but she might become one of America's best players. Go USA!

Russia has plenty of great players already without including Sharpy.

I think Dementieva has better strokes, better movement, and a better overall game, but her serve is what is keeping her out of the mix of the top 5 in the world.

Without it, Maria is the best Russian and will continue to be the Greatest...

Let them eat cake.

Poor Elena, she is the most talented Russian IMO. Then Sveta.

But all that doesnt matter because its mental strength that separates Maria from them. So I think she will.

three years from now, Maria Sharapova will be playing for the United States. You heard it here first.

Maria's definitely 100% Russian and I don't see her changing her nationality. Ever.

Kiss my ass, vogus.

I think she is. And I don't think it makes sense to hypothesize what happens 100 years from now. It's not like even Graf is guaranteed to stay the best German player forever.

As most unbiasedly as I can say... Maria is the greatest from all the current Russian players.

Yet, we do not know, but it is very probable that Anastasia Plavlyochenkova willl do more than Maria has done so far, if Maria is not dominating so much, Anastasia could be the greatest.

But also, Daria Sharapova even younger... is able to play and beat players two years older than her.

But defienlty for righ tnow and for quite a while she will be the greatest..

The World's best player...
