One Good thing about being a Sisters Fan..

If one loses you still have one to root for.

I don't think the Same thing will happen to Venus
Barring injury.

Why can't one like two players equally.
They are Sisters.
They play alike.
Their attidude is the same
They win a lot
They are beautiful
They are alike, with enough differences to make them both interesring.

Its like they are two sides of the same coin

but it still don't make up for the fact that one lost!! The only time I don't mind when they lose, is when they lose to each other!! Otherwise, having another super fave in the draw isn't much consolation

Doesn't that fly in the face of all the Venus and Serena fans who constantly post in a snippy way if someone dares lump the two together?

What is the difference between liking both Venus and Serena than liking both Kim and Justine or Kim and Lindsay or any other two top players? If one falls out of a tournament, the other is still there to bring interest and joy if they win.

When one is down, the other will save the day.
You also know that the one Williams down will also receive encouragement and support form the one up

I'm a fan of EVERY player. I can't lose. So I don't care who wins, well as long as it's my favourite.

This would seem to be the case of fans who are either fans of Venus OR Serena, not BOTH. There shouldn't be any

It seems rjd1111 was speaking more to the point of fans of the Williams Sisters as a duo.

But still, what's the difference between being a fan of both sisters and having any other two players as your co-favorites?

I don't think there is much of a difference with having both Serena and Venus as your top two faves as much as any other two players. With their close relationship the fans of both take some solice I suppose in the fact that their affection for both while not on the same level as their sisterly bond, is quite equal. So when one loses, it's okay that it's to the other. Replace Venus and Serena for any other two names and the feeling could be quite similar. It's just in this case the subject matter happens to be the fans of the sisters.
