question

does anyone else think it's silly that if a top player withdrawls after the the draw is made, they just throw the new (33rd) seed in the withdrawl's place?? Why isn't everyone bumped up accordingly?

Serena: Queen of the odd in OZ.

Venus: Please follow suit and win Wimbledon again.

I would agree with you in a perfect, moral world. In the real world, people could "cheat" their way through a draw if this were the case. Are you seed #7 and you know you'd win with Seed #6's easy draw? Just pay them to withdraw.
