Exclamation A little 'R & R' period.

Seriously WTF is with all these injuries?

It's absolutely ridiculous. They should have a "rest and recovery" period after the USO for about 4 months so everyone can rest up for 2006...absurd.

I'm sick of the fucking injuries...

yes, lets get rid of the court where a majority of the tournaments are played on because players can't take the playing surface.

Hard courts aren't the problem. It's the amount of time players are continually playing nad training.

It's also the amount of tournaments they're "advised" to play.
This is fucking insane.

There needs to be a longer break between YEC and start of the next season. They only have about a month of rest. Give them two months and start the season a little later or end it a little earlyier.

it is crazy. Top players are becoming more and more injured because it is getting more competitive at the top. They need time to train and build up their bodies for all these tournaments.

It DOES happen in Australia, and we DO blame Rebound Ace, which is even worse for injuries than normal hard courts because of the stickiness. I've seen some horrible, horrible injuries in Australia.

Can't believe some people still refuse to believe that hard courts are a factor - it's so logical. Sure, you'll get the odd fluke injury on grass or clay if the grass is slippery etc, but those surfaces are in general kinder to the joints. Merely playing on hard is more stressful on ankles, knees, backs etc! If you'd played tennis on the different surfaces you'd feel it yourself.

The number of tournaments is fine, but less should be on hard courts and more on grass/clay. Also the WTA should stop 'encouraging' players to overplay, and the players themselves should start scheduling sensibly.
