Where are the good youngsters?

The AER can be no excuse - why are there so few really good teenage players?

We have only Screamerova, who is already 18.

Ivanovic and Golovin, both almost 18, struggle at #18 and #25.
Has there ever been a time when there were less up-and-coming players than today?

Most probably we will watch Enna win slams even in 5 or 7 years from now when there is no-one of the younger generation to threaten her!

Joan Rivers tracked them down and drank their blood. Sorry, Joan, feeling old today.

If someone (ANYONE, PLEASE!) could get Angela Haynes to take a little frying pan off that forehand grip, and commit to serving and volleying with that lefty hook serve, all these girls would be outta here and she'd be a force to reckon with.

(in my humble opinion)

There is nothing more beautiful than Evonne Goolagong in full flight moving across a tennis court.

uhhum
1. ivanovic struggeling? that girl is playing great!
2. maybe there are less youngsters now because the level of womanstennis increased and it's more difficult for youngsters to adapt to the level it's now. maybe it shows it was easier to get into the top of womans tennis 10 years ago.
3. you are right, enna will be winning slams 5 years from now

All-Time-Great
Justine Henin

Elena, thank you for all the joy you gave me, you will always remain in my mind.

To be fair , she couldn't follow it up either so it doesn't really equate

She followed it up with YEC, tier 1 and 2 titles and a world number 1. Another slam should follow soon.

So far out of all the teenages, Maria is proven.

The others like ivanovic, Golovin etc... have proven nothing at all just yet, but give them time.

ivanovic is yet to make top10, so even if she's great, she's not huge for a youngster.
i think youngsters at the top has changed.
with nick bolleteri's academy, we are seeing more and more beautiful, young, athletic girls who have half an eye on the tv all the time.
looking at seles' hairdo's when she was 16, graf at 17 or hingis - you get the picture that they were there to play tennis (and some times bitch around and about )
jankovic, sharapova, sesil - they are too beautiful, it seems.

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.
