The single WORST shot you've ever seen?

Let's hear it!

For me, it was Eleni Daniilidou's serve at the Australian Open a few years ago. She was serving to the deuce court and the ball not only went onto the side of ad-court but it was a fault on the far side of the ad-court too!

I can't remember who her opponent was but I think she was just confused. LOL!

What about yours?

I once saw Yoon-Jeong Cho (vs. Seles) hit her serve so badly it hit the court before it hit the net. I'm not even sure how she did that/won a set.

^ Venus did that too

I think it will have to be the Kournikova lob serve against Justine at the Oz Open

Grosjean's Wimbledon 2005 serve where he missed the ball completely. Oh wait, he's not a woman (I got confused by the long hair).

halard-decugis tried to smash a lob at the net versus kournikova in miami 1999 but missed it lol

you could say that it doesn't count as a worse shot cuz it wasn't actually hit, but it was certainly the worst attempt i have ever seen

Navratalova at Indian Wells this year. Second round, she attempted to volley, however it went about shoulder high to the fence. Come to think of it Kuznetsova wasn't doing so hot either...they got knocked out.

Yes, Anna's serve against Justine at the AO was amazing.

I once saw Conchi hit a moonball into the stands. That was good for some laughs.

At Indian Wells this year during one of those super windy days Maria hit a serve that landed in front of her service box.

Hingis' infamous smash against Venus certainly ranks as one of the worst smashes she ever hit, so that's definitely the worst shot I've seen at a crucial time by a top player. Some of Serena's drop shots that don't come close to reaching the net, or loop up to the back of the court, have been entertaining.

When Davenport blew that smash @ Wimbledon against Amelie & just shrieked in embarrassment I was pretty shocked...

I agree that the Hingis smash vs. Venus was the worst shot in a critical moment....

I have seen worse but I can't think of any @ the moment.
