You are right about that. I'll take it a step further...a tournament is not a tournament unless a Williams is present. I just hope my girls are ready for the US Open and they are on opposite sides of the draw.

Stands to reason the ratings will be higher when American players are on American Television stations. I like both Williams sisters, but would the ratings be higher for Maria Sharapova or Serena Williams on BBC in the UK?

Good question. You have to understand, though: Just as many people tune in to watch Serena lose as the people who tune in to watch her win. Maria Sharapova isn't quite as compelling yet.

It's really funny when Vee played in the finals of wimbeldon Dick went on and on about her not wearing any accessories...not tell me which other player would they have taken notice of had the player not worn any accessories..Well, I guess the sisters all stand out when they walk on court. Anyway my girl meant to win Wimbeldon and she did not want any distractions...I kinda miss the accessories though. I always like their necklaces and earrings...always very different.

I have no idea but I know the ratings skyrocked in Australia when Serena played her semi-final.

So true Pureracket. I think the same can be said for the U.S. too when people tune in to see them play.. But then again, that is kind of contradictory because when they play each other the rating are very high..so I don't know.

God, you're a fucking idiot.

Sometimes I wish that the entire top ten would just retire on the spot so that morons who refuse to appreciate the whole tour would fuck off.

I can't find the post now, but a couple days after the match someone from the UK did post that this years women's final had higher ratings in Britain than last year's.
