The Maria Kirilenko thread got me thinking about this. That would be so great if we had a worldwide television system where we could get the telvised tournaments and then we could choose which match and player we wanted to watch. And the best part is Mary Carillo, Pam Shriver, etc, won't be commentating on the action!!!! We need Sirius TV! I wonder if they could do that, even with Wimbledon, what do you guys think? Jim Courier, Jimmy Connors, P-Mac, and others are amazing analysts, they should be commentating on matches ALL THE TIME duirng the majors. If there is match going on, put these guys to work. As a tennis fan I would love it. I can watch a little of this match and then tune into another match and I am not being held as a SLAVE by ESPN and the others.

Look at what Major League baseball does on their site. mlb.com

They have live feeds for non-blacked out games, using the feed of the local broadcasters. And since you pay "by day" rather than "by match" you can switch between broadcasts.

They also have archived games that you can download onto your computer for about $4 per game.

I browse once in a while.

wow. and since tennis is so global, nothing gets blacked out. that would be so sweet if we could have "live feed" of any match we wanted to see. And we would not have to pay, like I would sit through a certain amount of commercial advertisement if I was able to finally see the beautiful Little Masha and cheer for her. I am superstitious, I think televised players do better because you can sort of root and cheer for them more. If Maria K. was winning i would be on the coffee table praying to the tennis gods that she gets through to the next match. If she was losing I would cover her opponet's eyes on the screen when they served

Anyway, they already have something like this in Britain, but I think it's only for Wimbledon.

Yeah, digital viewers in the UK during Wimbledon can chose from 5 live feeds for as long as there is play on the televised courts. During Finals day this year, the other feeds included previews of Lindsay and Venus where they were interviewed prior to the match which was very cool!

Also, during the USOpen Sky Sports have an interactive service, I believe where viewers can chose from a variety of matches (again, probably up to 5 different feeds)....I don't have this as it's only for Sky Digital viewers, I am with NTL (cable) digital.

So, I guess it's very similar to what the thread starter is talking about.....I think it's a great service
