Fortis Championships Luxembourg

For this new Tier 2 Tournament (in the past: Seat Open (Tier 3)), the tournament director already announced the commitments of the following players:

Justine Henin-Hardenne
Nadia Petrova
Kim Clijsters
Elena Bovina
Daniela Hantuchova

Great to see Henin and Clijsters both in the same (Tier 2) Tournament

The tournament director is a very grumpy, ill-tempered person. I absolutely hated the tournament when I went there last year. The only good thing were the German pretzels, which were delish.

The venue is so so so small and too warm and you can't even watch the players practise (well only from far).

Yay! Good to see Kim back in Luxembourg, where she won 2 or 3 titles. Hopefully she'll ad one more this year, although the playersfield is has much more quality than the last years. Oh well, that's what you get when it's a Tier II.

I know I've been a liar
And I know I've been a fool
I hope we didn't break it
But I'm glad we broke the rules
My cave is deep now
Yet your light is shining through
I cover my eyes
Still all I see is you

I am so glad to see Hantuchova on the list!

Nice to see BOTH Belgians Kim and Justine as well!

It is a little bit pathetic that Luxembourg has now a Tier II but actually no player in the Top 100 of the world...

It's a shame as, as soon as Anne Kremer got back into the Top100 she is out again as she didn't defend as many Wimbledon points as she would have liked. Claudine Schaul has also dipped her form and is in danger of looming on the challenger circuit again. Its a shame as she showed great form and potential - with her win over Davenport in Strausbourg 04.

YOu can say that about GBR. Its a shame how we have so few good players(well Elena Baltacha but she is so random...) and very few in top 200 and we have a Grand Slam,Birminhgam and Eastbourne....comparing the size of the two countries too
