If London wins Olympics/Wimbledon

In about 40 minutes we will know who has won the 2012 Olympic games, and as Wimbledon would be used for the tennis, do you think that would mean a full turn out of all the top stars in mens and womens for their countries?.

Would Russia allow Sharapova to play if she was still a top player?

2012 - will be in 7 years time. Maria will be 25/26 years old - so she will probably still be a top player, depending on whether she has had enough or isn't injured.

It depends.

Paris would probably mean Roland Garros = clay
London would mean Wimbledon = grass.

They are more likely to send her to London games than the Paris ones as clay isn't really her surface.

If London wins the Olympic tennis tournament will be on grass for the first time since like 1924?

Wait, was 1924 Paris? It might even be 1920!

One question.

Will the Olympics replace either Roland Garros or Wimbledon in 2012 or there'll be 2 tournaments held in the same venue, in the same year - the Grand Slam and the Olympics?

Definitely 2 tournaments!

Replacing means effectively cancelling that grand slam for that year. And only war has cancelled grand slam events in the past.

Thanks. I didn't know that.
But it would be weird if it's Wimbledon, as they wouldn't have much time (or any time at all) to prepare the grasscourts for a second tournament. Next thing you know the courts will end up playing like clay by the end of the 2nd event (probably the Olympics?)

As much as I like Wimbledon, I want/think Paris will win. RG it is, then. And there should be no problems with the courts.
