Arrow Most Grand Slam points earned (ranks and stats of GS)

If you take the points of the 4 Grand-Slams, that's how the Top 20 would be ranked: (xy) means the actual Ranking. In the other braces: only mentioned Quarterfinals and better

01 (01) DAVENPORT 2172 (2 FINALS, 1 SF, 1 QF)

02 (04) KUZNETSOVA 1562 (1 WIN, 2 QF)

03 (06) S. WILLIAMS 1554 (1 WIN, 1 QF)

04 (08) V. WILLIAMS 1518 (1 WIN)

05 (13) PIERCE 1366 (1 FINAL, 1 QF)

06 (02) SHARAPOVA 1260 (2 SF, 1 QF)

07 (07) HENIN-HARD. 1214 (1 WIN)

08 (05) DEMENTIEVA 1190 (1 FINAL)

09 (09) PETROVA 1188 (1 SF, 2 QF)

10 (03) MAURESMO 976 (1 SF, 2 QF)

11 (18) DECHY 842 (1 SF)
12 (16) LIKHOVTSEVA 712 (1 SF)
13 (20) IVANOVIC 544 (1 QF)
14 (12) SCHNYDER 540 (1 QF)
15 (10) MYSKINA 468 (1 QF)
16 (11) MOLIK 320 (1 QF)
17 (14) CLIJSTERS 264 (-)
18 (17) BOVINA 256 (-)
19 (15) ZVONAREVA 204 (-)
20 (19) JANKOVIC 182 (-)

QUICK FACTS:
  • 3 Players reached at least the quarters and are not in Top 20 right now: CAPRIATI (SF USO), ASAGOE (QF USO), KARATANTCHEVA (QF FO)
  • None of the actual TOP 5 won a slam in 2005
  • No winner was able to reach another Semifinal
  • Kim Clijsters is the highest ranked player without reaching a quarter final
  • Lindsay Davenport is the only player to reach at least the quarters in every GS
(Maria Sharapova also did that this year so far, but missed at the USO 04)
  • Mary Pierce is not in the top 10, but made the 5th most points
  • On the other hand, Anastasia Myskina is No 10, but 14 other players made more points
  • Anastasia Myskina is the only Top 10 player who didn't reach at least a Semifinal ( not because of Anastasia but because all the other 9 did so!)
  • There are 4 different winners (out of a possibilty of: 4)
  • There are 7 different finalists (8)
  • There are 12 different Semifinalists (16)
  • There are 19 different Quarterfinalists (32)
  • Only Lindsay Davenport and Maria Sharapova reached more than 1 Semifinal. Lindsay: 4 times, Maria: 2 times
I thought that was pretty interesting. Please, don't tell me: that player was injured, the other one didn't play every GS and the third one was not better because of menstrual problems or a bad feng shui or whatever. It's just all about points. nothing more. Peace.

Just more stats we need.. love the one where venus doens't stand a chance to the former wimbledon champion in the semifinal at wimbledon 2005

"I told her, `You don't want to get into a hitting battle with Sharapova, because it would be uneven for Sharapova, because Sharapova only has one good side and that's her backhand,"'. "`You don't want to get into that for the simple reason you would win. So try to hit some balls to her strong side, to her backhand, and that would help you with your match for tomorrow

Sir Richard Williams

Which 4 semis did Lindsay reach?......I thought it was 3. Mary beat her in the quarters of the French, did she not?
