Should there be a change in schedule for Wimbledon and French Open?

Currently the French Open and Wimbledon is too close together...about 2-3 weeks. This gives players less time to prepare and adept themselves to the grass courts, especially clay court specialists.

So should the French Open and Wimbledon schedule be changed next year, or remain them at their current state?

I think the French Open should start early May and Wimbledon on the first wek of July... that leaves a gap of about 1 1/2 months to prepare on grass. Agree?

I think one extra week would be good, especially so players can play Eastbourne and still have a weeks rest before Wimbledon...

Wimbledon needs moving forward at least a week. Moving the French back would cause problems with Rome and berlin.

One extra week with a Tier1 on grass should be added.

Wimbledon supposedly going to be pushed back a week either in 2006 or 2007.

I think they should have a Tier I on grass and maybe have an extra week or two between the French and Wimbledon

I would NOT change it. It has been this way for years.

This makes it very special when a player wins BOTH in the same year.

I think this has been done by only five or six players.

it hasn't been this way before and someone may corrct me but I seem to remember RG starting in early may. There should definitely be at least 3 weeks between these 2 majors. The change is too great but also spreads the tournaments around.

If they keep slowing the Wimbledon courts down it wouldn't make much difference. Baseliners have as much chance there now as serve and volleyers. (Are there any left anyway?!!!!)

I personally would be a big fan of a longer grass court season. The current one is just over in a flash, yet we're overloaded with clay and hard court events. Surely that's a bit unfair on those players who's best surface is grass?!

It certainly is. The US and AO both used to be grass events. Now grass is confined to four weeks!

I don't thing RG should be allowed to push forward into the grass season. These french must be stopped.

There should definitely be an extra week between RG and Wimbledon with Wimbledon moving a week later. Eastbourne should become a Tier 1 and a new tier 2 or 3 should be introduced between Eastbourne and Wimbledon.

I also think there should be an extra week inbetween them. Add one more grass court event that could be either a Tier I or II. They are too close together as things currently stand.

Keep it the way it is....Justine lost in the first round because she got outplayed, just as Serena was outplayed in the 3rd.

I say if players are lacking preperation they should modify thier schedules.

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated" - George Bernard Shaw

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "
