As a Venus fan, two thing from me have always
stood out about what he's had to say.
1. Venus won't be the better player out of the Sisters.
2. When Venus decides to play no one can beat her.
Was he right?
I always tired to wrap my mind around
this and finally started to get it, I think.
I've always known Venus loved her tennis but realized in the
grand scheme that tennis wasn't the "end all be all" and never
treated it as such. In watching "Raising Tennis Ace's" Venus said
she didn't necesarrily aspire to be the best that ever played the game.
She wanted to win as much as she could but
that when tennis was done it was done.
I'm guessing Venus just had to decide to play.
This year we saw the hard work in her game and it was
just the mental aspect and belief she needed in her game to
get the last bit of the way there.
This year she really did decide to play and
she ws healthy to play and train.
Not sure if you guys are getting what I'm trying to saw
and neither am I really for that matter but just
wanted to say it.
I think be healthy has allowed to to play and that
she has decided to put in all the hard work needed to get back.
So, I guess what I'm asking is that do you think with Venus
it's not so much about forehands, serve's, technique, ect....
but decideding she wants to play and believing she can win?
I also found it telling that in her post match interview that
while she enjoyed winning Wimbledon she wants to do more
and knows she can.
Love the attitude.
