Poor man, such heavy penalties for a simple (albeit inexcusable) mistake.

This "simple mistake" affected Venus' upset in round 2!

I understand but really you'd do best to get over it, I'm sure Venus has.

an umpire can make a mistake. what was stupid was how Sprem and especially Venus didn't say anything. it's not as if he was challenged and refused to back down, as was the case with Mariana Alves at the US Open.

You have long been my goal, been my chasing, been my soul. I have hung out on the edge. But I just couldn't let go. There's a time to forgive. There's a time to forget. Close your eyes, get ready, set. Walk me down this fall I'm taking but don't let me go yet. Oh let me go, sweetheart, throw me, around you, like you know me. And remember me too. Remember me too from a dream i had of you. Mary Margaret O'Hara | Dream I Had | Apartment Hunting | 2002.

Oh please!

It's not stupid if you weren't
aware of a mistake! :retard:

Venus didn't realize and simply thought
she once again just lost track.

Karolina seemed to think from the expression
on her face but was confused as well.

And he's the one in charge of keeping score, so challenged
or not it ultimately falls on him and he suffered the consequences
deemed necessary by the committe.

As for Venus & Karolina, it wasn't an issue for
either and just media and people like these
making it into one.

It was a pretty big mistake to make but someone should've really told him at the time. I find it hard to believe that all the lines people, crowd, the people who were with Venus didnt notice it. They should've all made ted aware of his mistake

Exactly. He made a err in one of Venus' matches and is crucified for it. However, just as Richard said, it wouldn't have made a difference.

Venus was still playing like poo-poo, which has continued since. Karma is fickle thing.
