Exclamation Round of 16 Predictions

I know Serena has yet to play but it is not to early ...

15 Kim def. 1 Lindsay in 2 tough sets (including one tiebreak). Yes, it is grass which favors Lindsay but Kim knows exactly how to beat her and is PISSED from the Roland Garros loss. She will be running down everything Lindsay hits and frustrating her, causing Lindsay to make the error.

5 Sveta def. Maggie in 2 easy sets. I wish the result could be different as Maggie really deserves to have better Grand Slam finishes but the writing is on the wall for this match

3 Amelie def. 13 Lena L in 2 sets. Take the Roland Garros final. Transplant to grass. Replace Mary with Amelie and you have the outcome of this match. If it was Silvia then Amelie would have for sure had to work harder but Lena L's powerless tennis is going to fall right into Amelie aggressive style.

6 Lena D def. 9 Nastya in 3 sets. The third set will probably go to 16-14, with both players choking when serving to close it out. Don't really know why I am picking Lena D except it is a hunch.

12 Mary def. 26 Flavia in 2 sets. One tight and one easy. Mary will have too much power and confidence from her last match against Ana. Flavia is in the 2nd week of a slam for the first time.

14 Venus def. 4 Serena (or Craybas). If Serena, I see this being a 3 set encounter with Venus winning. Serena is supposedly carrying numerous injuries. Richard said she should withdraw right now. Venus is playing better tennis so far. If Craybas Venus will roll over her easily.

8 Nadia def. Kveta in 2 sets. I don't know that much about Kveta's game. She did take out Vera Z but Nadia is a level better and should overpower her to reach the QF.

2 Maria def. 16 Nathalie in 2 sets. I REALLY want Nathalie to win this match. She needs to play Maria the same way she played Lindsay in Australia. But unfortunately Maria will probably win.

I agree with all of your predictions except I think Maggie will upset Svetlana. I have not been impressed with her play in the tournament so far.

Davenport def. Clijsters [6-4, 3-6, 7-5] - should be one of the best of the tournament
Kuznetsova def. Maleeva [6-3, 6-1] - routine, boring
Mauresmo def. Likhovsteva [7-6, 6-2] - see above though slightly tougher
Dementieva def. Myskina [7-6, 7-5] - no clue really...big tossup
Pierce def. Pennetta [4-6, 6-3, 6-3] - never seen Pennetta play
Petrova def. Peschke [6-2, 7-5] - haven't see either play the whole time
Venus def. Craybas [6-4, 6-4] - both are playing worse than anyone
Sharapova def. Dechy [6-3, 6-1] - routine, easy

Same SEMIS as last year....Davenport over Maria in the final....

ETA: I realize I picked no upsets....but at least 5 of those players have no shot. Clijsters, Myskina, and Venus could all win.

Davenport def Clijsters. It's impossible to call but i've been impressed with Davenport. Clijsters hangs with her early though she'll probably win.

Kuznetsova def Maleeva. I would prefer Maggie to win but i suspect Svetlana with bring her game here.

Mauresmo def Likhovtseva. In a rout - very easily i see for some reason.

Myskina def Dementieva. Again impossible to call but i see Myskina winning.

Mary def Flavia. Mary plays like she did today then Flavia has no chance but if she drops a bit it could be interesting.

Peschke def Petrova. It won't happen in all probability but i want it to.

Venus def Serena. 6-3, 0-6, 6-3 or something or Serena will withdraw with injury.

Sharapova def Dechy. 2-6, 7-5, 6-3

Kims said in an interview that she wants revenge badly so I think she'll win but Davenport on grass is tough...

I wish that is the case but Vee will probably let Jill make it closer
