Can anyone describe Ruano-Pascual/Suarez' game to me?

Because I have never really seen them play a full match.

I do know that they both prefer to stay at the baseline, but that alone doesn't explain why they win so much. It's not that their shots are incredibly hard or something, and their serves aren't mighty either.
How do they prevent that the other team just moves in and takes position at the net to finish off points?

They cover every aspect of the doubles game well

But the main reason why they win so much is that they have so much fun on court, IMO

They play really connected, Paola from the baseline is an amazing player and Vivi plays better at net. Although they both play from the baseline mostly.

I really enjoy when I have the shot to see them play, they laugh to each other and have no pressure, they are relaxed.

I am impressed, they didn't play much on clay this year and they won the 1st Slam they play together.

They are 29 & 31-year-old journeywomen who have had some success recently due to the declining level of women's tennis in the last years (esp.in doubles; Suarez even was top-10 in singles last year).

To evaluate their abilities it is very revealing that they lost their last matches against a washed-up Steffi Graf in 1998/99 with 0-6 3-6 (Suarez) and 0-6 1-6 (R.-P.).

They lob incessantly from the back and play lots of floated, dipping awkward returns of serve.

To be honest ( and I'm not wanting to play down theire success as they can only beat the opponents put in front of them ) they would not have stood a chance against any of the top pairs from the '80s through to the mid-late '90s. Kuznetsova & Molik are likely to be their biggest threat at Wimbledon as they have the power to overwhelm Vivi and Paola - also the Williams sisters have the power to hit through them.

They mostly stay on the baseline and pass their opponents at the net with passing shots and lobs. It is effective against most doubles teams today, but when the top players do play doubles, Vivi and Paola struggle and can be overpowered. Like the Williams sisters used to beat them all the time, Kim and Sugiyama too.

I think they are a very completete team. They use the eye formation when serving a lot which is a good stragtegy. When they return serve one stays on the base line abd the other stays a little bit before it. If it is a second serve they go into normal position. I think they are a very good team.

LOL some success recently?? In the past 5 years their win/loss record in slams is 84-9. There have been VERY FEW teams who have ever been that dominant
