Not a young girl anymore, time to drop some lbs. to avoid the constant ankle/knee injuries, the body is breaking down.
I was shocked by this comment. Sure, Serena has a thick body, but it is mainly her bone structure. Other than that, she is one of the most athletic women on the tour. I believe that Serena works really hard off court. One day she made the comment that she ate a snickers bar and didn't go to the gym. If she is worried about that, then I don't think she would allow herself to be unfit
Just because Serena is injury-prone doesn't mean she is fat!

I'm one of her biggest fans and defenders...yet I do think she could be fitter. She's naturally not stick-thin, like Vee for example, but she could be a little trimmer and more toned I think. All her injuries may be due to the fact she's not as fit as she was. She aint fat though.
Does she really need all the muscle? I mean she can still hit the ball hard without some of that muscle I mean like Sharapova. She has way less more muscles yet still hits as hard. Maybe losing some of the muscle would help her. But who knows. Serena's fitness trainer would tell Serena if she needs to lose weight I would suppose.

Hello, Serena admitted that she had diesel arms at age 11 (her words not mine.) Losing muscle mass isn't so easy for her. She just happens to be a female that builds muscle easily. It's rare in females, but it does happen.
