Depends on how Sveta would have felt match point up against Maria..........

Increasingly tournaments are being decided in the 4R or QF. Change just a few games or points there and Ivanovic, Schnyder, Kuznetsova Dementieva or Schiavone might have produced better SF and finals with one or neither of Mary and Justine. Instead you would have to drastically change the balance of play in the SF and Final to get a tight match. Thats the way it goes though - they didn't perform on the day and we get onesided matches therafter because thats the way the matchups work out.

Sveta was the best ball hitter of this tournament.. Her luck abandoned her first, her mind - second..

No doubt in my mind. Maria Sharapova would've been the 2005 Roland Garros champion. Kuznetsova she would've had a mental edge over. Same with Petrova and Pierce assuming she would've played them next.

the tie is between petrova and kuznetsova, for me.
against each other it would have been a fantastic semi.

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.

I think Sveta would have beaten Maria.

Whether she'd have taken on the French crowd as well as Mary, I'm not so sure.
