Mary pure class in defeat....

Not sure how many Slam finals I have actually got teary eyed over the loser of the match. But I sure did today.

Was really sad to see Mary attempt to overcome obvious grief in her destruction against Justine today.

Still, Mary showed what a great champion she has been especially in this tournament. God Bless her and I hope this defeat does not hinder her from at least doing well the rest of 2005.

I am in 100% agreement. I think Mary's a great person and player, Justine was just too good.

I cried, I feel really sorry for Mary.

Agreed! Both speeches were very sincere and sensitive.

She was really emotional and heart-warming.
truly, runner-up fits her perfectly, as she was the second best in the tournament (the opposite of the men's tourny, for example, where the semi between nadal and federer seems like the real clash for the title, and not the final tomorrow).
at one moment, i thought she's going to anounce retirement, that would have been REALLY sad
next time around girl

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.
