Why Are The Crowd Booing Everytime The WTA Tour is mentioned???

I can only think its because the womens event has been generally poor this year, at Roland Garros.

Just wondering if there is any specific reason.

I just hope you're not French !

That's just because French people isn't used to hear one's thanking the sponsors, they know that sponsors are behind everything, but they don't like when they are mentioned, they just think sport and sportwomen, during the ceremony, don't have to be associated to sponsors and money ... that's it, that's not a big deal ... just a cultural difference.

By the way, Justine thanked Sony for supporting the tour for many years, but that's the first year that it is the main sponsor, right ? ...

Anyway, Frenchies love everybody ... even all the haters on this board

Its only cause in France its chocking to talk about brand publicly. Such an advertising is not common. Its not a matter of nationality, it would have been the same for any other brand! Its just a difference of culture between Anglo-saxon countries and more latin countries...
Just look at Justine and Mary when they pronounced the name of the sponsor, its obvious they expected the reaction of the crow... and both players were not chocked by it...

Incorrect. They were booing "WTA World", not the "WTA".
