Venus's Endorsement

Word on the street is that BIG Sis is receiving a lot of pressure from her sponsors (well, the ones that are left).

Reebok, who, according to reports, has chosen to non-renew her after this year (the same thing they did the Andy), is really upset with her performance over the last 7 slams! 1 1/8 final! But, Reebok is paying her guaranteed funds of $8,000,000 a year!????? Unbelievable!

American Express has dropped her, due to a poor performance!

Seems like McDs, a major supporter of Black History Month (Feb), seems to be the only sponsor that will stick by VW!

Mark my words: Venus will not seek out additional assistance until it hits her purse!

With early round losses at Slams, and major losses with sponsors, and, even if she gets another clothing sponsor, she won't command a fraction of what she received in 2000, I believe VW will seek additional coaching.

Troll BAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Venus is barely in the top 15. It seems like you all should be tired of making up unsubstantiated stories about her by now.

You all's obsession is REALLY interesting.

Venus Williams is worth over $150 million dollars in US dollars. Exactly what kind of pressure would a shoe contract have? She could retire today and still have enough money for generations after her.

[QUOTE=cirelowe]Word on the street is that BIG Sis..
It makes one wonder on what kind of "street " you hang out to hear this kind of BS. You are totally misinformed about how sponsorship contracts are made. To begin with you should learn that at her career stage it is she,Venus, who choses what brand to sponsor on the basis of the highest bidder, not the other way round! A multimillionaire like her doesn't need any sponsors you naive ignorant soul!
Celebrities are evaluated on the basis of their accumulated image-capital over time, on the basis of the number and significance of their accomplishments and their estimated impact on the general public, and not on how the celeb is doing presently.Once a celeb becomes an icon, like the Williams Sis,they can lock up multiyear contracts without depending, again,on today.
Also think Kournikova who is still raking up millions from brands SHE sponsors in spite of haven't played a match in 3 years now

Don't know if that's true, but here are some interesting facts on Venus' earnings as listed by forbes.

1999: 5 mil, 77th on money list, 62 on Power rank
2000: 10 mil, 74th on money list, 57 on Power rank
2001: 11mil, 75th on money list, 60 on Power rank
2002: 14 mil, 71st on the money list, 65 on Power rank
2003: 8 mil, 80th on the money list, 77 on Power rank

That's 48 mil from 99-03.
